16:00 – 17:30 5G Networks for Media and Entertainment

The distribution of content and media is directly dependent of the networks capacities. There are several distribution channels (unicast, multicast, broadcast) using different technologies (wired, mobile, satellite) and it is crucial that content and media will be distributed to end user in the best way. The future 5G network have the ambition to withdraw the network complexity from the application level (network convergence) and also have the ambition to offer first possibilities for applications to configure the network according the their needs (latency, bandwidth, security, …) thanks to the SDN/NFV technologies.

The purpose of the session is to present the capacity of the future 5G network as it is plan to be and to collect additional requirements from stakeholders in media and entertainment industry.

The session will be highly interactive and make use of participatory methods to be able to involve all participants as active contributors. NEM Networking Camp for the Creative Industries
This session is devoted to animate the discussion within the recently established Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) working group of NEM. Our goal is to get stakeholders interested in technological innovation in the CCI talking to each other with the aim to identify common interests, main stakeholders and what makes them tick, and how NEM could support the nurturing of a European innovation network for the CCIs. The session is designed to facilitate interaction in a structured way following a user design canvassing method.

Session of the NEM Summit 2016 on 23rd and 24th November 2016 will be open for all Summit participants. The 22nd NEM General Assembly is part of the open Summit programme. On 25th November, several workshops and meetings will be held by invitation only.
