Thursday October 15th, 2015
Frankfurt Book Fair, room Facette (Hall 3. Via West) – 10.30-12.00
Access to finance and digital innovation and are keywords for growth for creative industries in Europe and the EC now offers new instruments to address the challenges of competitiveness and innovation.
The TISP seminar will present for the first time to publishers, the new financial instrument that will be launched by the European Commission to overcome obstacles still hindering financial investments for publishing companies and other CCIs. The Guarantee Facility will be operational in 2016 and will facilitate access to finance for micro, small, and medium sized organisations in the creative sector, as well as to improve the risk-assessment capacities of participating financial intermediaries.
The seminar will also illustrate the new workprogramme for the period 2016-18 of Horizon 2020, the EU initiative for Research and Innovation. The next two years it will offer to content industries some dedicated funding to actions along the entire content value chain which cover creation and management of digital content as well as technologies, accessibility and user experience.
An insight into recent initiatives and experiences promoting technological and digital innovation in the publishing sector will stimulate the discussion on needs and trends of the industry.
