The distribution of content and media is directly dependent of the networks capacities. There are several distribution channels (unicast, multicast, broadcast) using different technologies (wired, mobile, satellite) and it is crucial that content and media will be distributed to end user in the best way. The future 5G network have the ambition to withdraw the network complexity from the application level (network convergence) and also have the ambition to offer first possibilities for applications to configure the network according the their needs (latency, bandwidth, security, …) thanks to the SDN/NFV technologies.

Networking Camp for the Cultural and Creative Industries – In Preparation (To be announced)
New European Media (NEM) is a community of over 1,000 members. The community took on a new focus on the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) recently, and a CCI working group has been established this year in order to animate and strengthen this focus. This is why we are organizing a session within the NEM Summit entirely devoted to the CCI within NEM. Our first and foremost goal is to get stakeholders talking to each other: researchers and industry players, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and corporates, policy makers and trade associations – everyone interested in technological innovation in the CCI. Our aim is to find out: What are our common interests? Who are the stakeholders within NEM interested in the CCI – and what makes them tick? What are the next steps that NEM should and could take in order to nurture an European innovation network for the CCIs? The session will comprise of a introduction to the topic and a discussion round (45 min.) followed by a structured networking round (45 min.).
Preparations of the session program are ongoing by evaluation of received community feedback.
Session chairs: Nina Klein (Frankfurt Book Fair) and Marta Izquierdo Vaquero (Smart Digital Entertainment)
