Musical Scale detection on the Reactable
The Reactable is a tabletop musical systems designed for various modes of playing. When using the Reactable as a tool for creative production the task of analysing music material and putting everything into a common context sometimes breaks the creative workflow provided by the tangible interface. Most of the time the musical context can be guessed from the samples used in a piece and this way the system can propose a better estimation of what the user wants to achieve. This should be done without forcing the user to use the estimated parameters, by guiding him and proposing musically meaningful parameters first without adding restrictions.
We will show a prototype implementation of a scale recommender system for the Reactable.
